But yeah, agree with the middle lane hoggers driving at 55 mph. Its like the first lane is invisible to them.
I was told by an Indian that this is because they think the inside lane is for lorries only.

      WGS.
It's not any of that. It's just incessant smoking, and the fact that weather in India is much hotter than here, which destroys their lungs. Some of them have this ugly habit of clearing their throats in a loud manner, which makes the hair stand on my body. With indians working around you, headphones are a must. Sadly, we cannot always attach a perfume bottle or a clamp to the nose in the risk of dying.
I am Brad. I do more than the needful and drive the market rates up by not bobbing my head.

Tell Bobs what you're getting and they'll want it

Normally I'd not reveal my rate to anyone but I'm starting to think about telling onshore Bobs what I'm getting.

Even the ones that are really winging it will start to think they deserve a UK rate: probably because they tend to dress a bit smarter and put in more desk time. Seriously I think if they knew how cheap they were compared to UK labour they would start to demand rate increases and hopefully destroy the on/offshoring market!

They do seem to really love their ciggies, I am guessing about half of them smoke during the working day. They also seem to be quite fond of crap takeaway food for lunch, greasy pizzas, bags of chip shop chips. In the land of unhealthy people they do stand out as being very unhealthy.

The one's in the test centre where I'm at all have nice plastic cartons of home made curry and rice EVERY LUNCHTIME. They all do this simultaneously and the stink is terrific.

Middle Lane Ownership Club not restricted to bob's by a long shot. Since I glare contemptuously at all MLOC owners whilst hammering past them at 70mph-and-not-a-jot-faster on the M1, M40 and M6 I've observed that MLOC is an equal opportunities supporter.

Once they start on their mobile phones they can go on for hours discussing family life, food recipes, kids and anything under the sun. They should be put down !
Tell me about it. Bobbete her is completely useless technically. No idea at all. To be honest, for some things, my 9 yr old son is more tech savvy. Shes the sort if she can't get something working, she'll email someone else, give them 30 mins then copy in a manager saying its causing problems.

But, to be fair, she has got it down to a fine art for arse-licking and making herself look good. This is same bob contractor who regularly works weekends for free mind.

End result is that management here at client absolutely love her. I can't be arsed to get into all this, and I'm sure they just think I'm an awkward tulipe.

I quite look forward to when the bob I sit next to does this as for a short period of time the curry smell masks the honk of his BO
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

                    I preferred version 1!

This is what winds me up most about offshoring: I wouldn't mind if offshoring was a worldwide search for the best talent but it isn't. It's about finding the cheapest people who *say* they know how to do something. You often get someone with no skills whatsoever who expects to be trained up, despite being touted as an expert.

I'm seriously thinking about having a no-contracting with an offshore team policy (which I know is difficult these days). If talented UK workers refused to pick up the pieces to keep the offshoring party going, and work was left entirely to the Bobs, offshoring would end tomorrow.
