    Indeed.

Yesterday all these packages turn up at the door, the missus says "What's that?", I say "It's the custom stands for my Eyefinity display......I need them for work.....".

She just gives me "The Look".
...my quagmire of greed....my cesspit of laziness and unfairness....all I am doing is sticking two fingers up at nurses, doctors and other hard working employed professionals...

Thanks for reminding me. I'm a permie now but the Ltd can't be closed before the last VAT declaration this month, so I can still get the VAT back on my flash new Tacx VR cycling trainer I bought at the weekend. I suppose I should rush out and buy a whole lot more unnecessary techie crap while I can still get the VAT back.

        Never really noticed.

        Or interest.

My best mate in my early career asked me to describe my job and I had great difficulty describing it in non-techie terms.

Some time later he was there when I was explaining the pros and cons of a career in IT to someone else, and he got a better grasp of it.

I recall an ex-colleague's wife answering the question of what her husband did.

"He's a C plus plus programmer" with a very superior tone of voice.

She hadn't seen his code ...

My wife sed to be an Oracle Financials Contractor and really knows about puters, which is a downer as I can't get away with anything, and she knows my work probably as well as I do.

The other day I was asked what I did by my 6 year old, I said I was a Senior Consultant to Client name to which she replied does that mean the oldest one...

My wife describes my work as boring.

                  Which is accurate.
