Even more interesting is how your kids describe your work.
My 8 year daughter know exactly what I do and who I currently work for I was quite astounded as I never expected her to have a clue, she's told all her teachers too. She is without a doubt my number 1 fan

I'm currently working on a datacentre relocation project. My eldest (8) asked me if I got to drive the van
When I was on the bench, he wrote in his news book that I didn't have a job, so now his teacher, and probably the whole school and community now think that I am on the dole between sporadic episodes of driving vans!
I refer my daughter to the Peppa Pig episode when she goes to Daddy Pig's work.
Stamping bits of paper, drawing pictures and talking on the phone. She thinks working is great
After a recent conversation with my parents I realised they had no idea what I do and described my work as "working with computers, never has a job for very long, always moving jobs and doesn't get to live at home very much, something to do with laptops" ????
I asked Gf chef and got a slightly less vague response but still no real idea.
this got me thinking, does anyone's partner on here have a clue what they do really?
No not a clue. Or my parents or in laws. When talking to the missus about it her eyes will glaze over and then will be easily distracted! 'oh look, puppies!'
I worked for the Highways authority. My youngest told his teacher I worked on the roads. Which was kind of true. And I did used to have a donkey jacket.
