    We should honestly just nuke them if they try anything, which they won't.

    What's the point in having the ultimate deterrent if you don't use it when your sovereign territory is attacked.

      Because if we nuke Argentina then it's only a natural progression to take out Cardiff and then no more Doctor Who. The BBC wont let it happen.

      You know what they say about assumptions!

        You assume the ability of each of the assets to be equal, where they are not.

        For example, the new Type 45 destroyers could each, destroy the Argentine airforce from a range beyond the corresponding force's capability to attack the ships.

        Argentina have NOT updated any of their capability since 1982.

        They couldn't take the islands. Even if they did we could destroy their mainland naval and air bases with sub-fired cruise missiles fired from our modern subs.

        <rant>

        The Argentines are a bunch of wanna-be arse-wipes that, in the best traditions of the spic race, talka-the-talka to destract from their own crappy existence.

          Try googling "The Cold War" and then asking a grown-up to explain to you why we don't need anything like the same military capability nowadays.

            And they don't have Evita also

            Now the real serious threat is that in the event of war all football players from Argentina will be drafted in, this can cause disaster in English Premier League...

              Because most of the places we used to defend now have bigger economies than ours?
              While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

                  I was listening to "don't cry for me Argentina" the other day on the radio.

                  I always thought the line was "I never loved you" and only now realised it was "I never left you".

                    Have you brushed up your potato peeling skills? You might soon be called up - they will probably send Churchill for you.
