Most migration agent web sites have a free points assessment questionaire so you can see if you have enough points to get in without sponsorship... you currently have to get 120 points to be able to apply... which I have

Aus is expensive (Sydney) and the rates are worse than here , a lot worse , might have more sunshine but you will be financially poorer.
