I couldn't really see the point but I took the advice of older people "get in young and you'll be glad" and just squeaked in before turning 30. But I didn't contribute last year due to lack of funds - priority is maxing the ISAs, I am nervous not to over-contribute to pension in case I need the money so it really is only used for spare cash floating about.Originally posted by formant View PostI don't but I plan to. More likely to sort out a pension via expanding buy-to-let portfolio than a standard pension fund.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment

Anything where they promise you something 'in the future' is a con in my book. Pension funds will collapse and you'll be too old to enjoy it. Gather as much liquid money right now and invest it in a way that you see fit then you'll have no one to blame or congratulate but yourself when the fruits of your investments are reaped.Comment

So you keep your money in a bank account, or in shares? They're no more real than a pension if it all goes titsupOriginally posted by sbakoola View PostAnything where they promise you something 'in the future' is a con in my book. Good property in London/SE. That's the bulk of my pension. + whatever I can save/invest conservatively both here and abroad.
Actual pensions are designed to fleece the hard of thinking.
I'm not surprised you have one dooghie, how much are they taking as "fees"?
Hard Brexit now!

Not much. Seeing as you know jack-shot about the subject, I'm glad I am doing the opposite of what you think best. Good luck when your property portfolio loses 75% of it's value.Originally posted by sasguru View PostActual pensions are designed to fleece the hard of thinking.
