Great race, would have been happy for either to win. Vettel is slightly flattered by the Red Bull though, in the same car Alonso's the better racer (in my opinion of course).

You might be right but that was a good drive from Vettel after his first-lap shunt, coming from the back in a damaged car to a position where he had enough points and sticking there.

His team-mate didn't do him a favour either.

I disagree here; Webber moved out of the way with ease, as did the Torro Rosso's (Red Bulls), as did the german drivers; in fact, the only one who made him sweat, was Kobyashi. Lets also not forget he pretty much took out the midfield by driving into Senna and causing a multi car pile up, which he didn't get penalised for either...

          Not disagreeing with you there.

I disagree. Having a Red Bull, and in a race with lots of pit stops and people making mistakes, and a safety car, getting back up into the points from last isn't a big deal. And Webber clearly moved over and let Vettel through at one point.

I was quite disapointed. Not that I'm necessarily an Alonso fan, or Vettel hater, but after winning the last two I didn't want the same again.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

Getting from 23rd to 6th in the wet, where every overtake puts on a dodgy bit of tarmac, is still impressive. Lots of good drivers crashed or spun off with far less to do.

And I thought he got up to 5th or so, certainly top 10, BEFORE the safety car?

You're right, my bad, he did earlier on. I was talking about later, when Vettel had to pit and went backwards again, and this time Webber stayed in front of him.

But getting through from last to wherever he finished certainly wasn't easy. A lot of drivers made mistakes in those conditions. At one point he was a second faster per lap than everyone else, until his team told him to slow down because he had enough points.

Having said all that, Alonso was magnificent in the last few races and it would have been incredible if he had finished as champion.
