Trust me. 35°+ is perfectly OK for Christmas dinner at the side of the pool.Originally posted by Bunk View PostActually, I think the weather is the problem. Just doesn't feel like Christmas when it's 35º+.Behold the warranty -- the bold print giveth and the fine print taketh away.Comment

I used to live in Sydney, I know what it's like. It's great, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't feel like Christmas.Originally posted by Sysman View PostTrust me. 35°+ is perfectly OK for Christmas dinner at the side of the pool.Comment

To be honest Christmas hasn't felt like Christmas for many years now.Originally posted by Bunk View PostI used to live in Sydney, I know what it's like. It's great, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't feel like Christmas.
Too commercialised and all that.

Jealous!!Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostIn a break from our usual christmas in Africa trips, I'm off to Cairns to lie in the sun, drink wine and eat barramundi, lobsters, kangaroo and whatever other delicious animals the Aussies can chuck on a barbecue. Enjoy the northern European weather.
Been to Cairns Colonial Club a few years ago, and went on a dive with Sunlover in the great barrier reef.
Are you going to anywhere else in Oz?
Very, very jealous - have a great time!!Comment

Girona is a lovely city which is easily explored over a couple of days. It has some really nice boutique hotels, and has a nice civilised chilled out atmosphere about the place.Originally posted by norrahe View PostAny suggestions for places to go over xmas eve, xmas day and boxing day.
Ideally I'd like to veg at home and not see the inside of an airport, but Mr N is insistent we go away for a few days.
Any good places in euroland that do christmassy stuff?
Cheap as chips to get there, as the only airline that flies there is RyanAir, the city is literally 10 minutes taxi away.
Loads of day trip ideas, including Barcelona around 45 minutes away by train, and Dali theatre museum.
Barcelona itself also a cracking place for a short visit with plenty of cheap easy flights.Comment
