Actually, I think the weather is the problem. Just doesn't feel like Christmas when it's 35º+.

Trust me. 35°+ is perfectly OK for Christmas dinner at the side of the pool.

Not a big fan of warm climes.

I used to live in Sydney, I know what it's like. It's great, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't feel like Christmas.

To be honest Christmas hasn't felt like Christmas for many years now.

            Too commercialised and all that.

where's the walking frame icon when you need one?

Thought we might give it a go between xmas and new year and have xmas at home.

                  Jealous!!

Been to Cairns Colonial Club a few years ago, and went on a dive with Sunlover in the great barrier reef.

Are you going to anywhere else in Oz?

Very, very jealous - have a great time!!

Any good places in euroland that do christmassy stuff?
Girona is a lovely city which is easily explored over a couple of days. It has some really nice boutique hotels, and has a nice civilised chilled out atmosphere about the place.

Cheap as chips to get there, as the only airline that flies there is RyanAir, the city is literally 10 minutes taxi away.

Loads of day trip ideas, including Barcelona around 45 minutes away by train, and Dali theatre museum.

Barcelona itself also a cracking place for a short visit with plenty of cheap easy flights.
