Text message conversation of the day
"Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny. "
Thomas Jefferson -
So the friend and the phone loser are both called Adam?
Edit: Oh, I think I get it now. Never mind...
No, I still don't.
But I don't have an iPhone.Last edited by mudskipper; 23 October 2012, 05:31. -

The joke being, of course, that the friend's idea of informing Adam that his phone has been found is to text that information to Adam's phone (which isn't in Adam's possession). Whew! I'm sure there's plot for an episode of Lewis in amongst that somewhere. But not one I'd watch.Comment

Assumptions:
1) Name at the top of the screen is the person the phone owner is communicating with.
2) Messages on the left are what you type
3) Messages on the right are what your friend types.
We know the person on the left is Adam because he says 'Hi - it's Adam'.
if 2) is correct, then he owns the phone from which the screenshot is taken
if 1) is correct, then he's communicating with someone who's phone is identified as Adam.
But I don't have an iPhone, so all my assumptions may be incorrect.Comment

iphone - Why do my / sent text messages appear on the right of the dialogue? - User Experience
Assumptions 2 and 3 are wrong.
Therefore the joke makes sense, but the iPhone UI doesn't!Comment
