Definetly not. But pubs can refuse anyone without reason. Is that right?

That's because there is no contract, it is an invitation to treat, I.e. you are being invited to make a purchase and enter a contract, however the seller is entirely obliged not to accept your offer. Hence why 'management have the right to refuse service'.

This differs from a hotel/b&b booking because a contract has already been entered (if you've booked).
"I hope Celtic realise that, if their team is good enough, they will win. If they're not good enough, they'll not win - and they can't look at anybody else, whether it is referees or any other influence." - Walter Smith

So if they had not booked into the b&b they could have been turned away?

I suppose they could have just said they were full - I bet it happens.

            Entirely plausible.

But not if they have a discriminatory reason.

Married and non-married are legally different in England.

I'm not sure, but I think a business could apply for exemption of equality law if they wanted to offer a "married couples only" hotel.

Do pubs have to give a reason? I thought they could decide who to serve or not.

If they say its because the customer is a one legged Irish Black Lesbian Muslim they are asking for it - and compensation of £1800 show be the minimum.

Isn't "I don't like your face" adequate for a landlord? Clearly if you're black this would be highly racist
