Love this time of year, wonderful colours, game is in season. Chutneys, soups, stews. Snuggling in front of the fire with a hot chocolate.Comment

I agree, just cooked four venison, cherry, chocolate porter pies. One going to my favourite woman tomorrow!Originally posted by norrahe View PostLove this time of year, wonderful colours, game is in season. Chutneys, soups, stews. Snuggling in front of the fire with a hot chocolate.
I have an acacia tree in the back garden, so to speak, and it's turning a wonderful vermillion.
Mind you, cycling and motorbiking are getting a tad chilly - still no heating on in hyperD towers though!
Half Scots me.
If you think my attitude stinks, you should smell my fingers.Comment

No no no EO, summer is wonderful for BBQs, lobster on the grill so to speak. Autumn is a more reflective and sombre time to wish you had done more when the sun was out.Originally posted by EternalOptimist View Postwow again.

OMG, the smell of banana bread is wonderful, gonna take it out the oven and scoff the lot like the code monkey I am!

Not a bad time of the year. Especially where we live which is quite countryfied. We had the fire on for the first time at the weekend.
I can tell winter's on the way when the cats stay in at night - this is the first week that they've been hanging round in the evenings instead of being out terrorising the local wildlife.
This time of the year is all about catching up with friends, eating good food and making plans....my quagmire of greed....my cesspit of laziness and unfairness....all I am doing is sticking two fingers up at nurses, doctors and other hard working employed professionals...

I just love the seasons, and the change, especially out here on the levels. I ccycle through them almost daily, and paddle all the year through, and it's just amazing.Originally posted by Cliphead View PostBetween now and New Year is my favourite time of year.
The menu changes, lots of soups and stews. Candles on while watching spooky vids on YouTube, planning the Christmas day meal which will likely be goose. Who's gonna get invited? Birthday bash just before Christmas.
Will I have a party at New Year or join a band up north somewhere for a three day gig / piss up?
I don't mind the weather, love being indoors with the wind battering the rain against the window whilst getting more creative recording tunes in the studio.
I could go on...
I love the first fire of the year, of long walks all wrapped up, then back home to hot soup, made from the veggies in the garden.
Seasons, it's actually what makes this country more bearable.Comment

I made some wholemeal olive bread last night. Jesus, when it came out of the over, I knew it was unlikely to make the night.Originally posted by hyperD View PostNo no no EO, summer is wonderful for BBQs, lobster on the grill so to speak.
