Leaving a kid with a murdered mother and imprisoned father doesn't sound a better outcome.

Under no circumstances do I wish to involve the CSA but I'm trying to get a view on whether their published calcs are anywhere near.
Take it from me, I will do the right thing and this is not what I wanted.
Sounds very tulipty.

Yes - we aren't married.Originally posted by d000hg View PostThat reads a bit like the mother of your child isn't your wife
If she leaves you, does that impact payments?
Who leaves whom doesn't affect CSA rate, but as I said I was looking for the advice/experiences of others. From memory there used to be other Dads in a similar position on here.Comment

I finished paying a year ago, things may have changed.Originally posted by Peoplesoft bloke View PostI dunno - the CSA rate (there is a calculator online) says about 550 a month for one child in my case - hoping not to need to involve them
AFAIK one child = 15% of net. Surely that's not too much?
If you have your child >52 nights a year then reduce by a 1/7 upto 3/7 max (>=156).
Also are you limited? If so they only took what I drew in salary and dividends in a year into the calcs, but don't think living on nothing or they will go digging for blatant avoidance.
Good luck anyway, you're going to need some. Chin up and don't say things in anger or haste. But I discovered nothing else but depraved, excessive superstition. Pliny the youngerComment

As it happens the CSA rate equates almost exactly to 15 of net, and no, I don't think that's too much. Just to be clear, I am not trying to dodge/minimise/be mean etc. Other half is proposing more like 22-30% and I'm trying to decide what is fair. I realise it may seem daft asking on here, but there might just be some more folk with experience and of course this won't be the only place I look.Originally posted by Gibbon View PostI finished paying a year ago, things may have changed.
