Scrapping the minimum wage puts no more people in work, it just makes less income for the working poor and more profit for the employers. If there is any kind of welfare state it then supports the poor, so the net result is employers becoming richer at taxpayers' expense.

Why do you think it would be acceptable to employ someone and pay them less than a living wage?
Wage deflation is the only way to restore competitiveness within the Euro.

The sensible answer is to leave the Euro, default on all debts and devalue.
Still painful, but over more quickly and the debts do not need to be paid.

If slavery was the reason the US got rich why were the northern states richer than the southern?

Only a real idiot would say there are many facts when it comes to something as vague as economics.

Why don't you do some reading about US history before posting crap on here? You clearly know fook all about it.

The fact is if something is cheaper (labour in this case) it will be demanded more. If something is more expensive it will be demanded less. Bar a few exceptions that don't apply here. You can throw anecdotal references around all you want but it doesn't change this basic principle.

As usual, sas can only resort to insults, and not provide any counter arguments.

Poor sas, he's the angry old granddad sitting in his rocking-chair.

Maybe a Spanish newspaper should print a story on the 4 classes of people in the States. Rich, middle, poor and underclass.
