No, this seems to me, more like someone set him up, someone in the criminal fraternity who were looking after him according to the police.

It's not a wild stab in the dark to sense something wrong, that someone who looked after him, a proper criminal, has set him up. For me it's the instant walking into the police station to hand himself in, just the moment it was reported on the press. That's what makes this all a bit fishy
