Nothing wrong with Worsley, apart from the fact that Ryan Giggs lives there.Originally posted by EternalOptimist View PostYou have got to be pulling my plonker.

standing up for my adopted city
I moved up here about twenty years ago, and the friendliness of the people is one of the reasons that I stayed. Yes, there is *some* crime, and I understand that some may not appreciate urban living (whatever the city) but the deaths of two WPCs doesn't mean that it turned into LA.
Regarding Leigh, Bolton, Wigan, Warrington, there are plenty of fine people who live in all of those areas. I've had the privilege to know a few of them - and yes, also in Hulme and Wythenshaw.
That's not meant to sound as pompous as it comes across; I'm sorry, I left my eloquence at home this morning.Comment

Good.
Anyway, it would be novel if all the hereto law-abiding citizens took it into their heads to gather en-masse to claim back the city from the criminal gangs and left 'em all swinging from the lamp-posts.
Just saying, like.

Haydock folk (called Yickers) aren't any different, according to the ones I have met (all nice and friendly people mind). The client site is full of nice people. That's isn't my beef, the beef is the place is depressing, looks run down and is tulipe. I dislike the area, not the people.Originally posted by cailin maith View PostI've met people from Leigh.... some of them have never even been to Manchester, I'm not joking either.Comment

Novel approach to cleaning up the city.
Never understood the intelligence of folk who say tulip like this; 'yeah, lets fookin kill all the criminals then the place will be safe'.
