Don't back off now! You can't start an argument like that and then just back off! Who am I going to vent my anger at now!! Git!!!!!I am not qualified to give the above advice!

Personally I think red ken is doing a good thing. The chancellor's effort using road tax was pathetic, at least this will make people think, and maybe change. Someone needs to acknowledge that we need to do something about climate change, and the only way that people will be forced to change is if it hits them financially.
TLG - its not social engineering - you're blowing this out of all proportion. If you want to drive your polluting vehicle then go ahead, you just have to pay for it. You're a contractor, you can afford it. If you still want a 4x4 and don't want to pay then get a hybrid.
Noone in London needs a 4x4, period."Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny. "

Drivers are already being hit in the pocket and the more fuel greedy they are the more they pay.Originally posted by RuprectPersonally I think red ken is doing a good thing. No one in London "needs" personal transport at all. If you realy want to reduce congestion and pollution why not ban all personal vehicles completely?
Introduce park and ride schemes at the outer edges of London Transport. Only delivery vehicles beyond that point.I am not qualified to give the above advice!

Women in 4x4's
Don't get me started. As someone said earlier in the thread - they should be stripped naked and tied to the bonnet of the 4x4.....however I am a little kinder and would stop at that!!

Some quite tasty ones in Tesco's car park yesterday in an assortment of Range Rovers and Landcruisers.Originally posted by MustangDon't get me started. If find the Rangerover driveresses are more your Footballers Wives type - all flash and no nickers. The Landcruiser gals tend to be posh, stuck up and go like a rocket. They probably fantasise about being tied naked over the bonnet of their ego machines.
Yes. I have researched this topic exhaustively.

Arguable. But let's look at this in just a different way:-Originally posted by RuprectNoone in London needs a 4x4, period.
Mrs ASB runs a landcruiser for a number of reasons. Necessity being the prime one. On the odd ocassions she drives to town she will now get clobbered for 20 quid not the 8. The trips to town are also a necessity.
How is the environmental impact overall improved by us buying (say) a hybrid since that will be an additional vehicle which uses most of the resources it consumes in its production?Comment
