You're "retired" and hanging out on a contractor bulletin board on a Wednesday morning and you're calling ME a loser???Originally posted by sasguru View PostThanks for proving my point, loser.

Don't you realise people on here are killing time at work. They don't post on weekends during their free time, like you are. You have nothing better to do though

Yes. I tell an agent how much the rate is for which I am prepared to do a contract. It does seem to me that some agents don't believe that and we end up talking at cross-purposes:Originally posted by DodgyAgent View PostAnyone can say what they want but when push comes to shove what they will accept can be totally different. You would'nt give your lowest rate away at stage one would you?
what's your current rate?
500 per day.
what would be your rate for this contract?
500 per day.
But it's a long contract with probable extensions?
That has pros and cons.
What's your lowest rate for this contract?
500 per day.
If you can make a "special effort" I think we can land this one.
I am making a special effort.
Can you move a bit on the rate?
No. Well yes, if you want to pay a little more I would accep it. But I won't do it for less.
At this point they often get angry, as if I have been dishonest, whereas in fact I have been honest and they have trouble grasping that.Job motivation: how the powerful steal from the stupid.Comment
