I stated what rate I want. Why did they push to know my current rate?
Anyone can say what they want but when push comes to shove what they will accept can be totally different. You would'nt give your lowest rate away at stage one would you? so the agent wants to know as much as he can before he starts negotiating. It is very much part of the game and quite frankly you should understand it. - I will add that this does not mean that you should tell the agent what you are earning because he will probably use such information to get your rate down - best to be vague and throw the ball back into his court.
Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyone
