Do the majority of religious diocese do this though? Is it "normal behaviour" for Catholics, Methodists, Anglicans etc to talk in tongues on a Sunday or is it more the less mainstream churches that engage in this?

It's probably just a publicity stunt by Channel 4 - Provoke a few extremists into making a threat like this, get lots of lovely publicity for the program, and then air it at a later date.

Saying "then air it at a later date" makes it sound like they've decided not to air it now. As I've pointed out, it hasn't been withdrawn from the schedules or YouTube, and it'll be on tomorrow night if you want to watch it. It hasn't been banned or withdrawn; they've just cancelled an office party.

You don't 'see' the moderate ones because they don't make a big deal about it.

Most CofE and Methodist churches are not Charismatic (some are) but on the other hand in many towns the largest churches (by turnout) are. So it's not the norm, but neither is it an obscure cultish thing you only see on TV like snake-handling

I see moderate Muslims everywhere, because I live in a city that has a large Muslim population. Most of my adult life - for the last 30 or so years, to be precise - I've lived within 5 minutes walk of a mosque. I've spent many years living in parts of the city where I'm one of only maybe two or three non-Muslim households, and I lived at number 81.

In all that time I have seen evidence of extremism only once, for a short period: weird posters and stickers on lampposts and bus shelters, often attacking other prominent Muslims, such as imams who preached against extremist views. Then 3 people from a couple of streets away were arrested on terrorism charges after 9-11 (though no trial ever resulted) and that stopped.

There are about 30,000 Muslims living here, so that's one in 10,000 that is an extremist.

I don't usually bother engaging people in debate about their religious beliefs, but I do know quite a few Muslims who drink alcohol; they have presumably questioned at least one of the teachings of the Koran.

Your final question assumes that Islam, as understood and practised by the majority of Muslims, is in need of reform. I reject that assumption. If you think it is a valid assumption, it is for you to prove it so.

As NF says, if you walk past coloured people in the street a fair % will be Muslims. there isa big issue with cultural Islam though - you can pretty much ignore the Koran but still identify yourself as a Muslim. That's true with Judaism as well and actually, Catholicism too in many areas (Ireland). A few decades ago I bet most English would have got upset if you said they weren't Christians even though they weren't.
