My first thought was very bored wife, bit of a mid-life crisis, stuck in a rut.
I think you need to do something major before she finds the excitement elsewhere....
A year is too long, will definitely disrupt schooling (forget the educational aspects of trip, its a jolly).
I would go for a 6-8 weeker somewhere a long way from here, don't be travelling too much with kids that age it sounds like a nightmare, maybe do aus and NZ say.
Dont sweat work, this wont be your last job and you dont want to be the richest divorced contractor in the bedsit....Comment
