In this particular tournament Ibrahimavic was absolutely awesome as well and given the lack of quality around him all the more awesome.

In this tournament there haven't been many standout performances apart from Ronaldo.
Ibrahimavic has played well, as has Pirlo. I would even say Gerrard has played well in parts and probably has the most assists in the tournament.
If it wasn't for Messi then Ronaldo would get the player of the year, however hasnt Messi scored 80+ goals this season for club and country ?

That's not true - Liverpool have used him like that but he scored a fair few good goals when he was playing for Newcastle (one of them being against Liverpool)
