What it means to be a contractor

I have a deadline 2 weeks from today, and I have a months worth of work, I cant really charge more than I am. So I could let the deadline slip
after all, if I ramp up the effort, I get no more dosh
and the deadline issue is down to poor management, not my problem.

so what do I do ?

I have been working weekends and 10 hour days. next week I go up to 12 hour days, then 16 if ness.

Sit there quietly tapping away on your keyboard and then vomit all over it. Not only will they insist you go home but it will probably take a while to get you a new one, or at least clean this one. Deadline extended, sorted.

Current gig finishes in ten days. ClientCo are so behind they're gonna need to extend but won't commit yet but will be in the smelly stuff if I'm not available and waiting for confirmation of a new gig starting soon as this ends, good thing is I can do both but the rate is gonna go way up for current gig

Prioritise the work

Decide what is non essential and that is not required

Inform client you're working towards the deadline but, there's a risk if the deadline is maintained, the deliverable may not maintain its quality unless other resources assist in delivery.
