Not even that - he's wanted by the Swedes so they can investigate the complaints against him, but no charges have been brought. There may never be a trial in Sweden.

As it is he's now in breach of his bail conditions, so his friends (including Jemima Khan nee Goldsmith) are out £200,000 and he'll be held in custody until he's handed over to Sweden once the Ecuadorean embassy boots him out.

Alternatively, he might end up in Ecuador, which has a record of imprisoning journalists and also has an extradition treaty with the USA.

It appears some Ecuadorean minister came out with a load of guff about him being welcome there, and the pillock has taken it at face value, despite the president and others later saying "Actually, we don't want him here"

His behavior might preclude him from making really important bail sometime in the future - he should have went straight for Chaves instead even though that one won't last too long

Oh, did somebody bother to tell him that normally people seek asylum to stay out of their own native country - part of conditions is not being allowed to visit their own country that supposedly persecutes them

He'll be fine though compared to the chap who leaked him documents and who'll be most likely spending rest of his life in prison.

From the reports I've heard from people who've visited Ecuador it seems to be quite a nice place actually.

To visit perhaps; not so much to live in if you're the kind of person that won't be quiet when the government says so: Ecuador - Reporters Without Borders, World Report 2012: Ecuador | Human Rights Watch

I think Mr Assange really would be better off in Sweden

            FTFY

He may have had the most altruistic motives, but he still comes across as a delusional arrogant pillock of the highest order. So does Assange.

Would you prefer to sip cocktails on the beach in Ecuador while not moaning too much about the government or sit in a US prison trying to run a website without access to a computer?

                    No AndyW option?

I think that'll be automatically added.
