Care to tell me just how you would jail a company then?Originally posted by cojak View PostInteresting. £600k and you get jailed. £50m and you get your knuckles rapped and I'm looking at you, Rangers FC..."I hope Celtic realise that, if their team is good enough, they will win. If they're not good enough, they'll not win - and they can't look at anybody else, whether it is referees or any other influence." - Walter Smith

Ok replace the team with Murray (for setting up the EBT in the first place), Whyte (for not bothering to pass on the PAYE afterwards).Originally posted by Incognito View PostCare to tell me just how you would jail a company then?

That's different, I have no problem with that. Although to be honest, Murray simply acted on advice from a tax planner. If it wasn't for the double contracts chances are they'd have got away with it. Oh and more than half the sum is penalties and interest (and it's £75m). How many others have used EBT's? Think it was quite rife in the EPL during the 90's.Originally posted by cojak View PostOk replace the team with Murray (for setting up the EBT in the first place), Whyte (for not bothering to pass on the PAYE afterwards).

Hoop Hoop...
Poor old Rangers. First Craig Whyte screws them over, and now Charles Green is getting in on the act, antagonising players by insisting that they'll be compelled under TUPE to transfer their contracts to the new company he proposes to reform Rangers under (I guess he doesn't understand the concept of TUPE).
So, to recap, that's Green and Whyte messing up Rangers best-laid plans again: the old Gods like to laugh sometimes; no reason why, they just do.Comment
