Watching today's procession, I have to admit I'm a little disappointed that they're all in cars instead of horse drawn landaus. Would have been great to have seen the Queen in her coronation carriage again.

Being a lady of good taste and worldly understanding she understands that at times of hardship for many of those in her Commonwealth, it might not be fitting to ride around in a golden carriage. I noticed she'd opted for the poverty spec Rolls this time around.

The Mail and the Express serve an important purpose. They provide wealthy chardonnay-fuelled retirees living in large comfortable country houses in the shires with something to rant about at the dinner table or the golf club bar, usually starting with 'these people...'.

What else would my parents do with their time?
