      I doubt the EU wants to see Greece fall into anarchy and end up de stabilising Europe.

          I think that Greece will leave, thereby destabilising Europe and causing a worldwide financial meltdown many times more severe than the crash of 2008. This will then usher in world war 3.

              If you're wealthier you can afford to borrow more

              However that list makes a good point, in that if Greece puts in some economic reforms it has the potential to recover.

                The FT reports that "Alexis Tsipras will accept all his bailout creditors' conditions that were on the table this weekend with only a handful of minor changes".
