Reminded me of Euro 2004 to a degree. The win is anti-football and I do hope Chelsea realise the manager isn't all that good. I hope Di Matteo goes to Liverpool...

    Terrible for football.

Anti-football? Chelsea winning is what football is all about. Under dogs all the way through and still managed to win the title. Amazing really and the most enjoyable CL I have witnessed. Why should football always be about the better style (i.e. Barca) winning as expected and destroying all of it's opposition on the way? Is it not more interesting and exciting to see a weaker club defie all odds to get to the final and win?

What you talking about, one just did!

Cheltulip just parked the bus and rode their luck.

Gomez is a woeful finisher, Schweinsteiger didnt have the balls to watch roben then flunked his own chance when he had to make certain he scored his. Instead, he tried to get all billy bigbollocks and paid for his lack of determination.

A german team missing out on pens!? Who'd have thought, eh?
I couldn't give two fornicators! Yes, really!

The most enojoyable CL you have witnessed? Only seen that one then have you?

Perhaps you shouldnt have turned down the extra 85 quid a day gig and you may have been able to afford to watch more CL games and realise how poor that one was!

            Fair point, Mourinho in 2004.

Porto aren't that poor but certainly have far less than the likes of Man Utd, Barcelona, etc.

You're right, I guess a financial underdog will slip through every now and again.

Eh? Chelski aren't poor. Have you forgotten that Abramovic bankrolls them?

Well, this is the point really. It was 120+ minutes of drama.

As I said above it was like watching Zulu, a hugely entertaining movie. But if those Welsh Guards had come charging out of the fort to get amongst the zulus, we wouldn't have had much of a film, would we.

From what I recall, football is called the beautiful game, for a few reasons, none of which Chelsea have demonstrated this year. Throwing long balls forward for the old thespian Drogba to hold on to, isn't nice to watch.

Were it not for a profligate Messi/Barca and equally Bayern, they'd have been outclassed and it was an awful advert for English football. Awful.

As for the best you've seen, I'll echo someone elses observation that you obviously haven't watched many then.

Was it a festival of football ? - no.
Did tactics win the match ? - yes
Did the best team win ? the best defence won.
It can't be all out attacking as you will get battered as Man U got against barca.

When that phrase was coined it certainly wasn't beautiful - the players were not graceful pro athletes and far more violence contact was allowed.
