Not so sure about that, I think you'll find extreme culture and religious practices in many other countries, say Israel , perhaps even America in some peoples eyes (ever been to deepest darkest NJ?)

Forced Marriage is commonplace in Eastern Europe, with human trafficking of underage girls from Russia to be married off as soon as they turn 16 in western countries..

That said, Afghanistan and perhaps Pakistan have MANY problems all rolled into one... (I've never been to either, and in my opinion , you need to in order to pass your own personal judgement on things)
I agree with your comment in general, except the last sentence. Personal experiences, unless they are very long term, mean absolutely nothing at all. The reality is that many major problems are not going to be personally encounteded by an individual. For example, you can live and walk through major mugging hotspots in the UK and the probability is (and I can vouch from personal experience, having lived on the edges of Brixton and St Pauls in Bristol and walked through both late at night on many occasions) is that you will not be mugged. What we should pay attention to on any issue is the statistics.

      Sorry, yes you are right..

I don't travel often, but when I do its to work holiday, so I live in the countries for at least 3 months, often a year...

Still not long enough to be 100% but better than a 2 week holiday or so..

BBC News - Man charged with murder of pregnant mother Saiba Khatoon

        You've got to love Rochdale...

The guy named for this is from the same street as one of those convicted yesterday (and from the same estate as my family...). Nice are my bro lives in!!
I didn't say it was your ******* fault, I said I was blaming you!

No. They're just easier target for criminals, rapists, paedophiles etc., who, by the way, are despicable irrespective of race.

No it wasn't. Paedophilia is sexual interest in pre-pubescent children.

It happens in Geneva, when Saudi lads turn up, having been allowed out of their country for the first time.

In the Times, once of the accused was quoted as saying something like "They're racist, the white bastards". Which I thought ironic.
Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!

Rochdale's an even bigger tulip-hole than Heywood, thankfully we live in one of the nicer bits but one day we will escape.

For now the location suits for work & family reasons.

I had a friend who lived in Whit'erth, he used to own "Ellen Smith Coaches". Same Lodge.
