The Germans will of course pay. When the Greeks, Spanish, Italians and then probably the French and Dutch break out of the Euro their currency will rocket and no one will buy their goods. The high flying German economy is living on borrowed time.
Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyone

Yes, German mercantilism has been the main beneficiary of the Euro.

The interesting thing is that it wasn't the Germans who wanted the Euro, it was the French. The Euro came about as a price for unifcation.
          I'm alright Jack

If unification had come first then the euro would have been fine.

I doubt that. You'd still have the mismatch between peoples and economies.

I don't think they will, I think they will tell any country that doesn't follow the rules to **** off and get the money themselves elsewhere. German companies are more and more investing and selling their goods in countries outside of the Eurozone and those countries that buy German goods inside of the Eurozone will have to continue to buy them if they want them. Basically what these countries want, in particular those further south, is to continue with their 35 hour weeks, fat pensions, early retirement and not produce anything. If anything, by not accepting the austerity measures laid down by the EU (not just Germany) then they're in for very tough times ahead, in fact they're probably ****ed.
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.
