I used to think people emigrating from the UK would raise the average IQ in both countries, as I prided us in being fairly bright. However, with the people flocking to vote labour, I am beggining to doubt my previous beliefs.

I was told once, that people would quickly forget what they did to the country. I haven't forgotten the 70's when we were made to go cap in hand to the IMF, and when Bliar and Brown were in, when we were almost forced to do the same.

    Shocking really

We moan at all politicians, but they are democratically elected.

So we moan at voters instead, but they have a democratic right to elect who they want.

So we moan at democracy itself, but then we want to introduce another layer of it in the House of Lords.

Has anyone here got a consistent view on all this?

Which then begs the question of what is a government for? What do people think they are doing by voting in a party with a chancellor of Mr "no more boom and bust" Gordon Brown's incompetence in it.

It is not rocket science to see that spending money on credit whether it be the consumer or the government would end in tears.
as Stephen Hammond said although the banks were splashing out cheap credit we the consumer did'nt have to borrow it. And whilst it can be dubiously argued that people need to be saved from themselves the government on the other hand should know better.

I am a great believer in looking at outcomes and tracking back through the events behind those outcomes. Bad outcomes are always the result of bad policies/activities/strategies and/or poor execution..

It is also no coincidence that the last time this country went almost bust was under a labour government - no doubt that was someone else's fault.

              WTF!

My Ward has 2 seats both CON since 2008.

Now, I Indie guy (that I voted for) and the other is UKIP.

The two Cons got 13% of the vote each. Lab guy got similar but UKIP guy got 24% and the Indie guy got 32%.

Perhaps it'll be a UKIP/Con alliance after the next general election. With UKIP being the third largest party.

Basically it's a Hobson's choice between Labour flavoured Labour and ConDem flavoured Labour.

So based on that basis I didn't bother.

Come the General Election I'll be voting UKIP as they might be a better flavoured version of Labour.
