There's a Plan B. Get an ecommerce portal on the go and get all the wee seamstresses selling their wares online (for a small commission of course).

      Unfortunately, yes...

They wouldn't honour "never knowingly undersold" - for some walking boots as the shops selling them were in Belfast and not on the mainland.

I still enjoy being called 'Sir' in Waitrose though.

Suits, shirts, some bedding, curtains and clothes alterations all bespoke.

I'm not contributing to China's attempt at world domination.

I'd love to support British (English, Scottish, or whatever) industry, even if it cost five times a Chinese import

(That's assuming the rogues don't simply import Chinese goods and apply a vast markup, as I suspect is the case for the silk hankies I bought in Harrods the other week! What a mug I am - Could have bought just as good ones for half the price online )

You could call it "the guild of seamstresses"
Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.

They won't get it you know. None of them read the classics

I think everything in the world is made in China. Even the Japanese stuff I buy is made there, Roland, Yamaha, Korg, Sony.
