                I love the idea of a self-heating cold-blooded creature whose brain is the heat source. Sounds like a good Sci-Fi element to me.

                  The human brain uses up to 40 watts I believe, which is a fair bit, and according to this article, and reading between the lines a bit, generates more heat when thinking harder too.
