Segregation implies it was done against their will, rather than that they chose to live in the same area. This is what always happens - just look at ex-pat communities around the world.

I get that, I do. I see it everywhere. However, in the UK there are no 'Black estates', which was what I originally baulked at.

In Perth, there are areas in which English families mostly settle. They aren't English estates, just estates popular with migrants, and I understand all that.

However, stating there are black estates is simply wrong. Remember, these housing estates are handed by the councils, who maintain an ethnic balance, which I believe is enshrined in law; they cannot simply say, right, you're Asian, we'll house you in the Asian part of town.

As for Private houses, well, I have never, ever, ever seen a wholly one race street, let alone estate, other than caucasian.

Um, people on housing benefits don't normally get housed - that's for the real "bottom end". Most people on benefits still find their own house and then claim benefits to pay for it, at least where I live - I own a house with DSS tenants.

And saying a street "isn't black" because not every single resident is black is daft. It is a black/chinese/polish street if they have a significantly higher % than the surrounding area.
