I cant imagine talking to someone for 10 years without having had enough of them, never mind sleeping with the same (and only I assume) person all that time.

Then you have a very limited imagination.

My wife and I have been together for over 25 years (22 years married), and still enjoy each other's company.

But if I had 20 quid for every gent that's enjoyed your wife's company. Oh hang on. I do.

Oh well, it won't be a problem if everyone gets bored of you far quicker than that
Do you plan to keep getting new partners once you're in your 60s? Good luck!

That isnt the only problem in relationships either!

            - Even if you don't get tired of each others company (which we havent yet)
            - Or bored of sex (pass on this one)
            - Or have cheated (I dont think either of us has)
            - Or both have different objectives in life, compared to when you first got together (which we still have the same plans-ish)

Even if none of those things happen, all it takes is something to derail a relationship. One argument too many, changed personalities/political views, growing to realise the other person masked their own selves well, etc etc.

Not-all-there had a tongue in cheek comment, but on a serious note, some relationships even die after 25 years, with 22 years of hardly any issues. However hopefully all is well with NAT though and they will be one of the tiny percentage to make it for life.

This is something to be aware of, and can be dealt with. We've dealt with such things many times over the years. Complacency is the killer. As far as "tiny percentage that make it for life", are there any actual figures for this? I couldn't find any.

Of the three other couples we know who got married around the same time we did, only one has divorced and my parents celebrate their 50th anniversary this year.

Make sure you find a wife who is bi-sexual then....

Didn't think about that until it was too late.

Mind you you only thought about it second time around.

Oddly enough I selected Mrs BP for other reasons.

The bi-sexuality came as a complete suprise. Years of nagging her to retry her lesbian side and then she rediscovers it at a swinging party!
