Sometime we must have a "Talk Like Milan" day.

Should be easy to make up a few random phrases.

I was given instructions to finish up today by a Project Manager in the US as my project still did not have approval or a signed PO.

Bearing in mind my contract is in the UK I am still going in tomorrow and planning to invoice as usual until the agency says otherwise.

All projects$ > $100K have a 70% chance of cancellation. Mine is $500k and by all intense purposes the sponsors have done a crap job on the ROI justification.

Deadline set for the 20th March as final review.

        Squeeky pants time.
I used to work with a knob that said "All intensive purposes". Looked like a total bell end.

Do you people not even stop to think the phrase makes no sense? Even with google at hand to correct your erstwhile mistakes you still go on making them. The phrase you were trying to vomit up there was "To all intents and purposes".

Is the saying 'all intents and purposes' or 'all intense purposes'

I look upon it as rehabilitating you yanks back into society, after all it's not your fault you were chucked up on this planet on the wrong side of the pond.

It is important to avoid malapropisms as far as possible, as some people take them as a hallmark of ignorance and lack of education.

              Quite.

Received email from the guy who signs off my time to say that the CAR had moved through to the two final stages of sign off and that all was OK.

Then an email 20 minutes later from the PMO/Project Manager office to say as the CAR was not signed off all work was to stop & not to come in Monday.

Talk about the left hand and the right hand don't know what they're doing.

So I will head in Monday as normal. Continue on the completion of the design phase as per the original plan (which needs to be completed in 10 days) & invoice for amount of time once the CAR has been approved. Of course if the project does fail at the final hurdle I will take the design as my own work, stick two fingers up and sell it to a competitor.

                Win fooking win.
