As per my reply above, at the office one has to call a spade an optimum logic sub stratum revelation device. -
It is disappointing that Churchill has chosen to actually justify himself and try to convince us that he was not in the wrong. A simple apology and a decent effort to educate himself on the word he used would have done him good. But true to his style he has chosen to come out all guns blazing and to be honest, he has really gone down in my esteem.Vote Corbyn ! Save this country !Comment

Right, I'm flouncing out of this thread. It's all a bit sad really. What happens in General, stays in General. You know what they say about assumptions!Comment

Well its a bad test. Any corner shop can be a paki shop if it is open long hours, has a good stock and is friendly.Originally posted by Old Greg View PostBecause that's the test to apply.Comment

And that is why racism is an issue that is hard to solve in this country. The recent case of racism between Luis Suarez and Evra during a football match is a classic example. Suarez and his mates are used to a term in a way "they" think is normal to use but obviously the term is derogatory towards a certain race.Vote Corbyn ! Save this country !Comment

This is a test of whether it is acceptable language to use in an Asian run shop.Originally posted by BrilloPad View PostWell its a bad test. Any corner shop can be a paki shop if it is open long hours, has a good stock and is friendly.Comment

Yes. Over here I call the shop owned by a Turkish person, the Turk shop because its owned by him, plus they tend to be the only ones open on a Sunday or late. If I go to a pub called the An Sibin then I say I'm going to the Irish pub, if its called the Irish pub then I'll say the same or possibly the Paddy pub. I could tell you about the Klaapse Klopse in Cape Town, is that racist?Originally posted by Zoiderman View Post
Would you say, if the shop was owned by a New Zealander, that it was the Kiwi shop? Or would you call it the Zimbabwe shop if it was owned by a Zimbabwean?“Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.”Comment

Leave Brillo alone. He's just sticking up for his mate who by all accounts is a thoroughly decent chap in RL even if he is a cretinous cock sucker on CUK.Originally posted by sasguru View PostI'll let the congregation decide on the thickness issue.
