The problem isn't member-ownership itself, but getting there. Would you buy into something when you do not know the full extent of its liabilities and penalties? Could you imagine trying to herd and organise such large numbers of people for such a purchase? Who would front it?

Perhaps some influential consortium of Scottish business figures fronted up by an Iconic figure like the much lauded Walter "walks on water" Smith perhaps? Now that would surely rally all the bluenosed troops eh?
