Indeed, what an idiotic article. It is like saying that euthanasia and cold blooded murder is an identical crime.Originally posted by Bunk View PostWHS
It sounds like trolling by pro-lifers.
That is your belief though. Killing an infant is murder, abortion is nothing like it at all.Originally posted by pacharan View PostHuman life is sacred and I dare say the reason I hold that view is because I believe in a God.
An abortion is a loving, merciful, selfless act and women should be praised for such and act. It is putting your own feelings to one side (many women are heartbroken at having abortions and have severe emotional trauma afterwards) and thinking of what is truly best for the potential child. That is the selfless notion that should be applauded.
Disagree entirely. I can prove to you how wrong this comment is if I regale you with the story of me, the OH and our conversations with medical experts in regards to conception.Originally posted by pacharan View PostThis is an inevitable consequence of the creeping secularism that seems to be pervading medical ethics these days.
They in no way try to push abortions, quite the opposite in fact. Ethics dictate they are supposed to inform only but we have found, they try to push irresponsible pregnancies.
I would agree with this. They already do though, they stick them in hospital with inadequate staffing and leave them in a corner to die, classy!Originally posted by pacharan View PostIt really wouldn't surprise me if, in a few years time, the elderly were being encouraged to undergo voluntary euthanasia, it really wouldn't.Comment

I remember this story about aborted babies being born alive. Terminations can be carried out after 24 weeks if the baby is handicapped or there's serious risk to mother's health.Comment

In the case where one of twins is to be aborted, it is usually deliberately done just a few weeks before the due date, at an age (33 weeks?) where the baby would easily survive if prematurely born. This is in case the process inadvertently triggers early delivery of the healthy twin. Method is injection of potassium chloride into the heart to stop it beating. Mother then gets to carry around dead baby for a while - I think to some extent it gets reabsorbed, but my knowledge gets a bit hazy here.Comment

How can you view in such black & white terms, especially when considering abortion at a viable or near-viable development stage?Originally posted by wim121 View PostKilling an infant is murder, abortion is nothing like it at all.
In some cases it is done with the child in mind. In others, the mother doesn't want the hassle and then it is all to do with selfishness. Again, not black & white. Even when it is done to show mercy, is it the mother's place to make that decision on the child's behalf? An abortion is a loving, merciful, selfless actOriginally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment
