What? You own a vehicle? I find it much more practical to rent one as and when I need it. Send the chap to pick up the appropriate vehicle for the day.I am not qualified to give the above advice!

Despite its rain-soaked image, southeast England has less water available per person than parts of Sudan and the southern Mediterranean, a government body said.
Now WHY might that be I wonder......Comment

Wonder how all those people getting/got loft conversions are going to cope if we get standpipes - most of these people had the tank in the loft removed so will have no reserve and when the water is switched off they will be stuck. A lot of people have moved to hot water on demand systems so removed the emersion heater too - bad decision. I guess us older ones remember the last drought in '76 and won't get caught this time. I think people will suffer more this time around due to these decisions.
As for washing the car and watering the garden I have a water butt and being an ex builder know how to modify the waste water system to water the garden from the waste of the bath and dishwasher - a plan b evolving

A water butt? I have 5 so far, 2 on house downpipes, 1 on greenhouse, 2 spares fed by old washing machine pump. Brill. Getting obsessed with fitting water butts to everything. Missus got annoyed when she caught me fitting one to her butt last week. Pity, that catchment area would have solved our crisis and Ethiopia's too probably.bloggoth

I think I'll start collecting my wee again. Makes the grass grow. Many years ago when contractors used to come over for beers and a smoke, instead of traipsing in mud to the house, we'd simply piss on the grass.
