    What a load of tulip. Anyone with a PC could make this ridiculous industrial noise that's emanating from the nextdoor retarded yoof's massive stereo. At least, anyone with a PC who can't be arsed to learn how to play an instrument.

    I think I'd better dig out my old Black Sabbath records. Or better still, Motorhead, even though I'm actually in the mood for listening to Beethoven's 9th right now.

    Rant over.
    Calm down grandad, we'll try to keep it down from now on.

                Most of this stuff can only be appreciated on a certain level if you have taken E in a dance music setting. This is because IMHO a lot of the music is designed to build up and enhance an ecstasy high. If you have never taken E then you wouldn't having a feeling for why the track is building and repeating, and you wouldn't hear old tracks with hairs standing up on your neck - of course you can intellectually understand what's happening but you don't feel the record. Having said that, I agree with you, a lot of it is just trype.

                  WHS

                  That music is not meant to be listened to, its meant to compliment an ecstasy high (or whatever people take in clubs these days, I haven't been for many years so am not up to date with it).

                    Good explanation, and indeed, I have never used E, or in fact any other mind bending substance, unless you can call wine a mind bending substance.

                    I must say though that having posted my rant yesterday evening I listened to my vinyl record of Kurt Masur and the Dresden Philharmonic playing Beethoven's 9th, accompanied by a glass or two of a fine Pfalz Riesling. It worked for me.

                    I like lot of rock music, some Dixieland jazz, some African music, and even a lot of modern songs. I quite like this girl, rather catchy songs, and no, I wouldn't, largely because her Dad's an ex All Black and I don't fancy having a fight with him. This actually shows some level of musical skill and understanding of harmonies, timing and chords;

                      I quite like the boom boom stuff. It isn't supposed to be listened too, it's for hurling yourself about to. Great
