    I was tempted by a BMW 320d but let my head rule in the end, I was put off by the prospect of paying twice the price of a more reliable Jap car, not to mention it would need to be garaged if the temperature hits 0c ...and then there's the 'image' problem.

    I appreciate the engineering and the RWD experience but most people buy them for the badge and I don't want to be mistaken for someone who cares about that sort of thing.

    Went with a 4 year old Mazda6 (again) in the end.
