Haha telling any christian true beleiver that and you will be "set right" pronto.
I think you will find that even the most fundamental Christian will tell you that the Bible is a collection of naratives as told by men. It may well be about the life of the son of God but it is not the word of God as dictated by him.
The only real referance to the word of God is in the old testament and is the Ten commandments.

Any religion that says it's okay to treat certain people as second class citizens (e.g. women, apostates, usurers, gays, adulterers, etc., etc.) is a crock of tulip.
So pretty much all religions then
To all the others who said same thing above...sod off
Fungus: Those Imams are risking hell fire according to the Koran.
The Koran is the word of God and is not open to interpretation only to understanding.
The fact that it was written in its time is one of its problems. It leaves no room for manouvre should the world change. If only God had had the foresight to appoint a line of prophets not just one so that he could keep steering us after Mohamed died.
Sorry but I'm positive the Koran is fully up for interpretation and has been many times in history by many different muslims, and sects thereof - that bit I'm certain of. As well as being pretty sure that historically speaking muslim countries treated their subjects (Muslims, Christians or Jews) a lot better than when compared us in the west, which by no means implies I'd like to live in a muslim state I gotta add, just that there is historical proof which say's that they're not all champing at the bit to kill us.
I don't profess to be an expert on the Koran, but I'm pretty sure your interpretation isn't the one most muslims are living their lives by. If you're that concerned maybe you should actually go and ask an expert rather than relying on your home grown interpretation.
Hang on - there is actually a place called Cheddar?? - cailin maith
Any forum is a collection of assorted weirdos, cranks and pervs - Board Game Geek
That will be a simply fab time to catch up for a beer. - Tay
Have you ever seen somebody lick the chutney spoon in an Indian Restaurant and put it back ? - Cyberghoul
Personally I'd put that down to a lot of hype and misunderstanding on both sides, but either way I still don't recall seeing your average muslim in the street doing anything worse than being pissed off that it happened. It's certainly not proof that muslims are bad people who want to kill us all in our sleep, which seems to be the party line in these parts.
So you didn't see the placards saying
"Europe you will pay, Bin Laden is on his way"
"murder citizens of Denmark, Spain or France"
"7/7 is on its way"
some misunderstanding
some hype coming 8 months after the attacks in London

Sorry but you are wrong.
I travel quite a lot to the Deep South USA (AL,MS,GA) and being me i just have to stir up tulip. And easyest way to do that is start talking about the "history" of the bible and how it has been revised multiple times. This is something that they cannot accept conceptually because it is would mean the bible cannot be litterly not the word of god as dictated by god himself
It's fun to watch them start foaming at the mouth, as long as you keep close to the exit
Just because practicing chistians here are a bit more realistic (Chico excluded) don't think majority are, especially as majority these days are in 3rd world countrys or backwards countrys like USA.

The following is from the Koran and shows that those who try to interpret do so to their own ends and are therefore bad people. There are other sura, but I cant be arsed to find them.
[3.7] He (God) it is Who has revealed the Book to you; some of its verses are decisive, they are the basis of the Book, and others are allegorical; then as for those in whose hearts there is perversity they follow the part of it which is allegorical, seeking to mislead and seeking to give it (their own) interpretation. but none knows its interpretation except Allah, and those who are firmly rooted in knowledge say: We believe in it, it is all from our Lord; and none do mind except those having understanding.
I have asked, but one can never be sure of the teachers bias. A Muslim is not going to tell me he wishes me dead and an anti Muslim is going to tell me of course I am right. I can only rely on my reading and that is biased as i dont read Persian so am reliant on faithful translations.

I bow to your experience, but the Bible does not itself profess to be the word of God where as the Koran does.

Islam Reviewed this is a long read written by an ex-Muslim scholar. Anyways I challenge you LG to put up the Koran against the Bible and put it to historical, archaeological and scientific tests to determine which is divinely inspired.

I dont see the point of comparing one work of fiction against another, it is like fighting over who has the best imaginary friend (Bill Hicks RIP, I think) and that is not the point of my argument.
I dont care if its real or not what I care about is the dedication to the cause it generates.
