Yes, they would certainly agree with you.

It's difficult to 'convert' to Judaism unless you are actually Jewish by blood-line. If you take your Bible and open it at 1.Matthew, then rip it in half, what you are holding in your left hand is pretty well a Jewish Torah. This was the religion 'of' Jesus.

It is really an attempt to describe the origins, history and obligations of the Jewish people, and so is not really applicable to 'Gentiles'.

Ironically; 'The Jews' of biblical times are now really what we know as 'The Palestinians', but that is a different subject :-)

Before I moved up here, I used to know a couple who were Wiccans, and they do a bit of that :-)

Actually a very 'pleasant' religion, and as valid as any other hocus-pocus I suppose.

I might get in touch, and see if they can put a curse on the corrupt Contract Manager who benched me.

Of course, religion is far wider than mainstream Christianity which the religious on CUK support. Here is an example from today's local papers:

Religious cult linked to beheading of 14 chickens in Penge (From News Shopper)

One has to ask, is that positive for mankind? Are the really intolerant extremes of the major religions positive? What about Scientology or Rastifarianism or animism? Those adherents would make the same arguments about their faith being a sound basis for society. Why are their ideas not valid but yours are?

Religion has so many conflicting ideas. When they do make good sense it is because they are only statements of what is natural for social animals anyway and which spring from natural feelings. Of course killing, stealing and adultery are bad but we don't need religion to tell us that, they are things that make us unhappy.

If we want a strong basis for a society what's wrong with logic based on reality of human nature and facts as to what makes us happiest?

Meanwhile the charity PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) warned that animal abusers such as the one in Penge often go on to make humans their next victims
Eek! Glad I don't live there any more.

"animal abusers such as the one in Penge often go on to make humans their next victims"

Do they choose their own victims, or will they take a contract???

                  Just thinking, like........
