Managed it in 53 minutes - I came 12th out of 15 (including 1 who did the swim only).

Straight after transition I cramped really badly - I had to walk half a lap. Any ideas? Dallas - hhheeeelllpppppp!

Which Transition - T1 or T2 - tonnes of studies and solutions regarding cramp, basically its genetic but can be managed depending if if you cramped in the swim or bike, sounds like bike?

It was 750m swim followed by 6km run. So swim to run. I could feel myself cramping as I got out of the water. Maybe I should not have sprinted to get out of the water?

There is formally no scientific evidence/reason why people cramp. I have tried all of the below and still cramp anything over an hour in the pool. In open water on a long swim its a good idea to increase kicking towards the end to get the circulation going ahead of running.

Have a pop at some of these and see how you go.

          Electrolytes
          Saltsticks
          Potassium (bananas)
          Picklejuice
          Compression guards
          Gym Roller & Increase stretching

I cycled 115 miles - that is a third of the race.

Before that is a 2.5 mile open water swim.

And following it is a marathon. Not the chocolate bar either.

Today during my cycle I consumed 5 high5 sachets. 6 mars bars. 2 snickers. and 3 litres of isotonic drinks.

I delve into the caffinated drinks for distance running, tends to keep my brain occupied with nonsense random thoughts and away from "why the feck am I doing this, I want to go home and sit on the sofa".

Ran 5 half marathon distance runs last week.

I managed a mile on the running machine at the gym and then hit the tequila for the evening. Now that was a session.

Just reading about decaman - an iron man EVERY day for 10 days! One coming up in Mexico in November - wonder if I could manage that?
