    Time for an upgrade

Right then, it's time for a new computer.

I need a laptop that will take at least 16GB RAM, ideally with the possibility to upgrade to 32GB later, a reasonably powerful processor, gigabit ethernet, wifi and ideally integrated 3G. Reasonable weight and half decent battery life are must haves as is a usable screen (realistically this means 14-15" 1600x900 resolution or above)

I have RAM & several SSDs to choose from so I don't want to pay for those if I can avoid it, a minimum spec on these things is fine.

I'm pretty much settled on the Lenovo W520 with full HD screen, any other suggestions before I take advantage of their current 10% discount voucher code?

While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

I would go with a lenovo. They make some of the best business grade machines.

You could become an iClone and go for a macbook...

No I can't, they max out at 8GB.

Yes, I'm very fond of my current one, I'm only looking to replace it cos I can't fit any more RAM in.

              Did anyone try pcspecialist?
I got a quote of around £2200 for that kind of spec (Intel i7/16G RAM/256G SSD HD) from pcspecialist..
Haven't made up my mind yet.

Monster solid state drives yesterday, 16 GB RAM today, 32 GB tomorrow. What you doing then?

                  Dell Precision
                  M4600 Advanced

                  128gb mini pci hard drive
320GB regular hard drive (upgradable later)
Third hard drive can be fitted in the optical drive bay
                  8gb ram @ 1600MHz (upgradable later)
                  Quad core 2.5GHz Intel i7
                  15.6" 1900x1080 screen

3 year on site warranty and accidental damage cover - I've used this a few times over the past 4+ years and they never argue about replacements

Built in 3G is available but I'd recommend a 3 mifi over that as you can then connect other devices to it. Plus reception should be better on the mifi
