Oh Brilliant - they're adorable, even though they all look like Mr Burns!
Thanks for making my evening
They're looking a bit more lively now - gaping mouths waiting for food. Bizarrely they've all suddenly got punk haircuts - I guess the feathers were already there but needed drying out. Still on five - my understanding is that they should all hatch about the same time otherwise the new ones don't stand a chance in the fight for food, so will see what happens tomorrow...
Gee, you've got more tits than the barmaid in Total Recall. Hope they make it.
I was watching the birds on a lake today and all looked cute, at first. As you watch longer you see that they are actually taking lumps out of each other at any opportunity and nature appears more in the raw. The poor bird with the gammy leg, who I tried to give more food to, but who then got picked on. The cute little chicks who at first appeared to living a carefree existence minus parents needing to look after them. A rook took one one later, possibly one of the rooks I was feeding because they were skilful at taking bread on the air. The other birds watched as the rook pecked at the little bird's head, eyes and then grabbed its neck and flew off with it. They didn't seem that bothered. I was a bit slow off the mark too.
