      Ye gods.

The last time I watched daytime TV a couple of Italian channels gave me Columbo, Magnum, and some good classic films.

I quickly got fed up with Murder She Wrote, but in contrast to Kyle or flogging off the contents of your attic, that wasn't too bad.

Homes under the Hammer is sometimes worth a watch.

          Get a Sky box!

Then daytime TV = Stargate, Star Trek (various flavours), X-Files ...

But the toothless slags on Jeremy Kyle are always good for a laugh... until you remember they have a vote

P.S. love the Jeremy Kyle "12 Days of Christmas" lyrics

Ugly women with tattoos arguing about a dog on what looks like a council estate now. I'm starting to reconsider my plan to get a new telly.

Daytime telly saps your will to live. It's there to keep the unemployed sedated, and young mothers something to chat about when collecting their kids from playgroup.

When I was last benched I avoided it completely. If you want to watch something funny or entertaining, pick one of the 5 to 10 minute videos on Youtube then, suitably refreshed do something worthwhile without wasting your entire morning.

As my current gig involves writing software for set-top boxes, avoiding daytime telly isn't really an option
