Doesn't help when they put down rules preventing you from doing your job correctly.

I'm apparently running a project whereby I haven't been allowed to get in external resources as there are no internal people available to carry out the work and no contingency is allowed on a project.

I'm apparently supposed to utilise non existent internal people. So in effect I'm the only resource on my project

The sooner I can get outta dodge the better.

Yep. Been there. Tried to test one of their savings systems without test data; testers were not allowed access to test data and weren't allowed to make test data, you see. Not 'compliant'.

Having to use a PC that is restricted i.e. I have to ask someone to install anything I want or to change settings as I have no access to them. It's all rather time consuming when you're on a deadline.

Bloody hell, the home office loved locking down PC software like MS Word for no good reason. Sometimes to a point where a task takes twice as long. And resetting it when you log off, so that every time you log on you've got to set up all your preferences again.

Discovering the BPM expert claims to know oracle and can solve all the problems the offshore bobs are trying to fix.

Maybe the BPM expert knows Oracle 'Middleware' or maybe he's an Oracle BPM expert. .
You could be an oracle expert these days without being a database or pl/sql expert.
