    That happened before my time.

Bollux. Britain is richer that it has ever been in its history.
And what our European neighbours think is irrelevant since the fooking hypocrites have relied on others to provide for their defence since the 2nd World War.
And in spite of not having to spend much on defence they've become so fat and lazy they've gone bust.
        Fook 'em.
        Hard Brexit now!

Quite. That's because the decline has been relative rather than absolute. Inevitable that a small damp island can't rule the world forever

Yes, that was my point. It's about time after the Major, Blair and Brown years.

I think it was only 15 years ago that the UK had the 4th biggest economy in the world.

                  Good, we understand each other.

I'm glad, because what I see this morning in my daily perusal of the papers (necessary for deciding which I shall read during my 25 euro dump), is a lot of whingers taking whingedom to a new dimension never before seen in the annals of whingeing.

Fact is; Dave's kept Britain out of a deal that wouldn't work for Britain, and left the 17 Euro countries (plus a few candidate Euro countries) move ahead and try to sort out the mess. Personally I hope they succeed, partly because I live in a Euro country, and partly because our family business is based in Britain, and it won't do British business any good if the Eurozone ends up in disaster, seeing as lots of customers are in Euroland.

I think what's being demonstrated today is that whatever you do, whingers will whinge and even if you give them everything they asked for, they'll whinge.

If it wasn't for that German .net social scheme for dunces that provides the likes of you and milan with employment, you'd be lucky to get a job at McD's.

WHS. 90% or these great IT jobs in Euroland a public sector, funded by borrowing. Once these are all culled, the ex-pats will come crawling back to the UK to sit on the bench.
